 Michael Kaliner is Medical Director of the Institute for Asthma and Allergy in Chevy Chase and Wheaton, MD. Among his achievements, Dr. Kaliner has been Head of Allergic Diseases and the Training Program Director of Allergy and Immunology at the National Institutes of Health; President of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; Chairman of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology; a member of the Executive Committee of the Joint Council of Allergy and Immunology, President of the Allergy and Immunology Section of the American Thoracic Society; and President of the World Allergy Organization. In 2004, he co-founded Strategic Pharmaceutical Advisors, a professional pharmaceutical consulting company. An avid teacher and researcher, Dr. Kaliner has published more than 475 articles, reviews, and books relating to allergies, sinusitis, and asthma. He has edited magazines for patients, such as Breathe Well, which he created, and for physicians, such as The Current Report on Asthma and Allergy, which he also created. William W. Storms, MD
 Dr. Storms is Co-Director of The Research Center at Asthma and Allergy Associates in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is involved in many investigational drug trials for new therapies in asthma and allergic rhinitis. He is the former Chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Dr. Storms is a member of the Sports Medicine Committee of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), and also a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the USOC. He is past president of the Western Society of Allergy and Immunology and the Colorado Allergy Society, and a former member of the Board of Regents of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the Board of the Joint Council of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
He is a member of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) Coordinating Committee of the NIH/NHLBI, and is Co-Chair of the Subcommittee on Professional and Public/Patient Education.
Dr. Storms is an Associate Editor for Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Asthma and is a reviewer for the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology; Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, Chest and ADIS International. He has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals on asthma and allergy.
Michael Benninger, MD
 Dr. Benninger is the Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is the Cummings-Brush Chair in Surgical Education for the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He serves as Director of the hospital’s Medical Center for the Performing Artist and as co-director of its Professional Voice Clinic.
In addition to his work at the hospital, Dr. Benninger has been very involve in Regional, National and International medical organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), and has been a former Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Governors of that Organization. He is a Past-President of the American Rhinologic Society and the Michigan Oto-Laryngological Society. He currently is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal, Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which is the largest peer-reviewed journal in the world for that specialty. He is on the Board of Directors of the Voice Foundation and the International Association of Phonosurgeons, and has recently been on the Executive Council of the Triological Society. He has served on the Residency Review Committee for Otolaryngology and as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for WebMD. He is the Past-Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Sinus and Allergy Health Partnership.
Dr Benninger has authored or edited 4 books and has also has written numerous book chapters and scientific articles, focusing primarily on voice care and laryngology, nasal and sinus disease and health care management. He has lectured extensively across the country and throughout the world. A graduate of Harvard University, Dr. Benninger received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
James Hadley, MD
 James A. Hadley, MD, FACS, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Rochester Medical Center and in clinical practice of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery associated with the Residency Program. He received his medical degree from the University of Bordeaux II, Faculty of Medicine, in France and completed a surgical internship at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven and a medical internship a The Greenwich Hospital, both in Connecticut. His additional postgraduate training includes a residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Dr. Hadley was elected President of the American Rhinologic Society 2003-2004 and as a Director for the American Board of Otolaryngology in 2004. He completed his service as Director-at-large to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery 2000-2003 and as President of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy from 1995-1996. His other professional duties include serving as an Examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a past Chairman of the AAO-HNS Allergy and Immunology and Medical Devices and Drugs Committees and is a member of the Slide lecture and Self Instructional Committees. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, American Rhinologic Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery who recently presented him with their Distinguished Service Award for Meritorious Service.
In addition to his academic teaching in surgery and otolaryngology, Dr. Hadley’s clinical practice specializes in rhinology and sinonasal disorders, otolaryngic allergy and pediatric otolaryngology. He has been an Invited Speaker and Instructor on guidelines for the management and treatment of these disorders at numerous meetings of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, American Academy of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Foundation and the American Rhinologic Society. His work has also appeared in such scientific journals as Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Current Opinion in Otolaryngology, ENT Journal, Otolaryngology Clinics of North America, Medical Clinics of North America, Journal of Managed Care and the American Journal of Rhinology and the textbooks: "Community Acquired Respiratory Tract Infections", "Allergy and Immunology, an Otolaryngic Approach" and "Primary Care for Women".
Bradley E. Chipps, MD
 I received my medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1972. I was a pediatric resident for two years before serving in the Air Force at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota for two years as a general pediatrician. I then completed a combined allergy and pulmonary fellowship at Johns Hopkins and spent one year on the faculty in the pediatric respiratory sciences division.
I have been in private practice in Sacramento since 1979. I am the medical director of respiratory therapy and the cystic fibrosis center at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento . I am also the associate medical director of the Sutter Community Hospitals Sleep Laboratory which I established in 1984. I am board certified in pediatric pulmonology and allergy and clinical immunology. I am a member of all the major societies associated with respiratory medicine. I have served on the program committee for the American Thoracic Society and the AAAAI. I was an ARRD workshop coordinator from 1998 to 2001.
My special interests include clinical research and lecturing, which has been an increasing part of my practice in the last 10 years. I continue to try to contribute to the literature on a regular basis.
My current research projects are in developing protocols for the assessment and treatment of acute, severe asthma and working on the advisory committee of Genentech's Tenor study. We are investigating the factors associated with continued symptomatology and airflow limitation in severe persistent asthma.
Peter V. Dicpinigaitis, MD
Dr. Peter Dicpinigaitis is Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in New York . He is triple-board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine. He serves as the director of the Intensive Care Unit of the Einstein/Weiler Division of Montefiore Medical Center, and is the founder and director of the Montefiore Cough Center , one of the few specialty centers in the world exclusively committed to the evaluation and management of patients with chronic cough.
In addition to experience in all aspects of clinical medicine within the spectrum of pulmonary and critical care, Dr. Dicpinigaitis has been very active in asthma and cough-related research. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on cough, and is considered an international authority on the performance of cough challenge studies in clinical research. He served as a co-author on recently-published cough management guidelines published by the American College of Chest Physicians as well as the European Respiratory Society.

Mitch Javidi CEO and President
A nationally recognized business strategist and scholar, Dr. Mitch Javidi is president and CEO of The Catevo Group and former founder and CEO of Digiton Corporation. In addition, he helped found and serves as an adjunct professor with the BioPharma MBA program at North Carolina State University.
During the past 25 years, Mitch has consulted with more than 350 clients in the public and private sectors across a range of industries, including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, government, financial services, automotive, agribusiness, consumer products, and energy. A prolific author, he has written more than 600 corporate reports and published more than 60 articles and book chapters. Mitch is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences and has delivered more than 400 presentations around the world.
During the early 1980s, he worked at Wal-Mart as a key strategist to founder Sam Walton and former President & CEO David Glass. Mitch’s primary focus was to help expand the company’s operations and profitability and provide strategic support for the launch of its pharmacy program and, during his 18-month tenure, Wal-Mart’s share of the pharmacy market increased by 21 percent.
Fluent in five languages, he has expertise in research methodology, cross-cultural communications, marketing strategy and supply chain optimization, particularly in the life sciences sector. After earning his doctorate from Oklahoma State University, Mitch served as an associate professor in the Communication Studies Department of North Carolina State University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Langston University and a Master of Science degree from Kansas State University, from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Bill Barnett Vice President, Managing Director Catevo Health
Bill Barnett’s distinguished 20-plus-year career in healthcare is highlighted by extensive experience directing teams and projects for a broad variety of leading pharmaceutical manufacturers.
At GlaxoSmithKline, Bill served as both director of U.S. business development and as director of Global eAlliances. He served on the commercial leadership team at Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and most recently served on the senior management team at the U.S.-based affiliate of Merck KGaA, EMD Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he led the company’s domestic commercial development, licensing and business development activities.
Bill has consistently been recognized for his innovative strategic analytical skills and business implementation accomplishments through focused operational implementation, product pricing and contracting, negotiating licensing and business development transactions, global strategic project leadership, and U.S. pharmaceutical logistics. Throughout his career, Bill has negotiated and closed ten business transactions with cumulative value of approximately $300 million.
Bill earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and received a Fuqua Fellowship to attend this school after graduating from Union College in Schenectady, New York with his Bachelor of Arts in economics. He has been active in continuing executive training at the nation’s top schools, including Harvard’s “Program on Negotiation,” Wharton’s “Discovery Based Planning,” Columbia’s “Marketing Management Program” and Duke’s “Biotechnology for Business.”
Gail A. E. Rosenberg, APR Senior Vice President, Business Development
As senior vice president, Gail Rosenberg oversees the strategic growth and day-to-day operations of the business development team and also serves as senior counsel to a wide array of Catevo’s clients. Gail brings a wealth of corporate, agency and government experience to the firm’s clients.
Beginning her career in 1975 in Washington, D.C., Gail worked in various positions on Capitol Hill with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the U.S. Senate Press Gallery and the U.S. Department of State. From 1981 to 1989, Gail worked as a public relations consultant with two leading independent public relations firms, Doremus and Company and Epley Associates, Inc., where she managed a range of healthcare clients, including GE Medical Systems, Wayne Memorial Hospital and Burroughs Wellcome, just to name a few.
In 1989 Chem-Nuclear Systems recruited her to manage communications for its effort to help North Carolina site a low-level radioactive waste disposal facility. Seven years later, Gail joined Highwoods Properties as its director of corporate communications, providing corporate and marketing communications direction and investor relations support for one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing commercial real estate companies. Gail returned to Epley Associates in 1999 as senior vice president and manager of the firm’s Charlotte operations, and continued to direct work for healthcare clients that included Carolinas HealthCare System, GlaxoSmithKline and Sister to Sister, among others.
Gail is accredited in the practice of public relations by the Public Relations Society of America and serves as an adjunct instructor at Appalachian State University, teaching integrated marketing communications. She earned a bachelor’s degree in government and politics at the University of Maryland at College Park.
Dwight Hallman Vice President, Business Consulting
As director of business consulting for The Catevo Group, Dwight Hallman has more than 15 years of experience in financial analysis, sales and project management. He also has extensive experiences in vendor/supplier contract negotiations, establishment and agreements with merchant banks, and shipping/logistics relationships and contracts. He’s directed consulting initiatives for healthcare clients that include GlaxoSmithKline, Valeant Pharmaceuticals and sanofi-aventis, and served as a licensed health insurance agent for United Healthcare.
Dwight began his career as a stock broker, later moving into business consulting and focusing his efforts on helping companies analyze the results of their existing sales and marketing practices and identifying opportunities to enhance profitability. Dwight was also instrumental in the startup and management of a direct sales company, which grew to more than $100 million in sales. In the startup phase, Dwight was critically involved in the development of the business plan and securing initial funding to begin operations. After the initial funding, he took the role as vice president of operations. His responsibilities included managing a full-service call center with more than 50 seats, including bilingual service and the acquisition and setup of the ACD system. He also developed several successful training programs and incentive contests to reduce hold times and drop-offs while improving overall efficiency and accuracy.
Dwight received a Bachelor of Science double major in computer information systems and economics from Elon University in N.C.
Roger Friedensen, APR Vice President, Integrated Communications
A member of Catevo’s Raleigh team since 1985, Roger Friedensen is vice president of integrated communications and offers a wealth of experience in public relations research, issues and reputation management, strategic planning, crisis communications, spokesperson training, and media relations.
In addition to helping direct the company’s Integrated Communications division, Roger provides senior counsel to a range of clients on a wide array of complex and controversial issues. Through his career, he’s served a broad array of clients — corporate, institutional and non-profit — in the healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and public health policy sectors. His healthcare clients have included Novo Nordisk, LipoScience, PPGx, DSM Catalytica, Goody’s Headache Powders, Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Misys Healthcare Systems and GlaxoSmithKline (and its predecessor companies Glaxo, Glaxo Wellcome and Burroughs Wellcome).
Roger has served as a visiting instructor at N.C. State University and is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and forums. He earned master's and bachelor's degrees in speech communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Active in the community, Roger is a board member of and counsel to the Regional Transportation Alliance and has served on the boards of several other area organizations. An accredited member of PRSA, Roger is active in the Counselors Academy of PRSA and is past president of the Raleigh Public Relations Society.
Ben Baker Vice President, Technology
Ben Baker provides Catevo clients with expertise in IT project management, developing and managing medium- to large-scale Web sites and portals, and developing rich media-driven content for various mediums and devices.
With more than 10 years of experience in Web and multimedia application development and design, he has extensive experience in ASP.NET, C#, Classic ASP, CSS, Cold Fusion ®, JSP, Flash®, Director®, Microsoft SQL Server ®, PalmOS® and Pocket PC® application development and Systems and Security Analysis.
He has previously served as a systems administrator, systems analyst and market researcher at a number of organizations in the communications arena, including EDS and Hummingbird Communications, providing consulting on e-services and digital identity branding.
Ben joined The Catevo Group in 1999, and his healthcare clients have included GlaxoSmithKline, GE Healthcare, Aventis Pharmaceuticals, TEAMM Pharmaceuticals, ASHP Advantage, Greer Laboratories, Oncology Education Services, Medical Education Solutions Group and Respirics.
Robert Handfield, Ph.D. Senior Supply Chain Counselor
Dr. Rob Handfield is the Bank of America Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management at N.C. State University and senior supply chain counselor for The Catevo Group and Catevo Health.
Rob is the founder and director of the Supply Chain Resource Consortium (SCRC) at N.C. State University. As director of the SCRC, he leverages his extensive industry knowledge and consults with executives in the U.S. and around the globe to identify key supply chain issues and trends. Rob’s current research focuses on global supplier development, global logistics, negotiation and relationship management, environmentally responsible manufacturing, and buyer-supplier alliances and trust development.
He has co-authored four books on strategic sourcing and supply chain management, including Introduction to Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management and Supplier Integration in New Product Development. His research has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals such as the Sloan Management Review, Supply Chain Management Review, California Management Review, Journal of Product Innovation Management and many others. Rob has extensive consulting experience with a number of global organizations, including Milliken & Company, Cabot Microelectronics, General Motors, Federal Express, Reliant Energy, Vitro Corporativo, Colgate Palmolive, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Steelcase, Johnson Controls Inc., NSK Corporation, Union Pacific and Mead Corporation.
In May 2001, Rob was awarded the Henry Latane Distinguished Ph.D. Alumni Award from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his doctorate degree in operations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990 and a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics and statistics in 1985 from the University of British Columbia.
